Student Ride Along: Anna Hood
As part of our continuing commitment to educating our community and future equine veterinarians, we have students shadowing every year in the Spring and Summer. Our first student shadow this year is Anna Hood, a fourth year veterinary student at Purdue University in Indiana. Take a look at her bio below, and make sure to say “Hello” when you see her out on the farm! Anna will be riding with us through March and into April. Welcome, Anna!

My Life with Horses: I have been riding since I was 6 years old and never grew out of the horse-crazy phase. I ride my off the track Thoroughbred, Bravo, in eventing and dressage. I have retrained several Thoroughbreds for new careers after their racing careers have ended and enjoy giving them a new life. During the summers between years of vet school, I would also train horses for clients and start young horses under saddle as well as give riding lessons. I enjoy caring for horses in all ways and plan to devote my life to helping them through becoming an equine veterinarian.
